The Doniya Better Project

Making the world better, one family at a time.

The name Doniya Better (دُنیا بہتر) comes from South Asian languages, meaning “Making the world better.” True to its name, this project is dedicated to empowering families from diverse backgrounds by giving them the tools and confidence to navigate the disability system.

What we do

We provide specialized support to help Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) families thrive. Our focus is two-fold:

For Parents: We strengthen your skills to navigate the NDIS, find the right resources, and become a strong advocate for your child within a culturally inclusive environment

For Children: We create personalized routines and activities for autistic children. These are designed to be practical, sustainable, and respectful of your family’s cultural values.

Important Information

Thanks to funding from the NDIA and our partners, we are proud to expand this project across Sydney and Regional
Victoria over the next two years.

Success Stories

The training was practical and real. The consultant used pictures and practiced road-crossing in real life with my daughter. She can now cross the road independently—something we hoped for but could never achieve with words alone.” — Single mother, Arabic Community

For the first time, we worked with someone who truly understood our culture and spoke our language. My son was more engaged and comfortable, which made a huge difference in his progress.” — Parent, South Indian Community
